This is the first time that the leading professional societies from Germany in the fields of biomedical informatics, biometrics, epidemiology, social medicine, prevention, medical sociology and public health have come together under this motto: GMDS, DGSMP, DGEpi, DGMS and DGPH.

The conference will take place from 08th to 13th of September in the network The conference venue is the culturally rich Deutsches Hygiene-Museum Dresden. The conference starts with the GMDS conference part from 08. – 11.09.2024. This will be followed by the conference part of the DGSMP, DGEpi, DGMS and DGPH from 11 – 13.09.2024.

Welcome!

We are facing a variety of global and regional challenges: War and terror, the consequences of the COVID-19 pandemic, the climate crisis and the rise of anti-democratic efforts are threatening health and science. In view of the future scenarios associated with these challenges, a narrow view of our own discipline is no help. Science, especially public health science, does not take place in a vacuum and has to constantly classify and position itself in society. We would therefore like to use the joint congress to look for solidarity-based solutions and positions together. We can then incorporate these into public health research and implementation and jointly represent them in society.

We expect the collaboration of five specialist societies in a joint annual conference to provide impetus on how we can meet the current challenges and further develop health promotion as well as preventive and curative healthcare and health science.

We look forward to our joint annual conference, to you and your coming, to many interesting, critical and varied contributions and to exchanging ideas together!
